This class: English 101

In this class I have recieved more out of the material due to my work ethic. I have put time, effort and practice into each assignment and I believe that it shows. Initially, I was not sure what to think. What was English 101 going to be about: Reading, Analyzing, Writing? I found out quickly that this class is about writing. However, it is about the understanding of how writing can get across to the readers. For me, word choice became one of my largest hurdles. I tried to fancy my paper with big words, intricate phrases, and finally a context that developed slow enough to grasp readers attention. Yet I found that writing is different for everyone. I appreciated the one on one conferences with Mr.Scott because he was able to tell me about my pros and cons directly. He was engaged in my writing and because of that my writing became better with each paper. So heading out of the class, I take away the knowledge that I can always do better, word choice is crucial, and conferences are a great way for me to understand and reason more clearly. The class is still not over! I'm looking forward to my iSearch essay on "how the power of words effect sp. Ed. Upbringing." it is a topic that goes perfectly in line with my future plans of study. I am intrigued by this topic so therefore the paper should be evident of my excitement. The argument that I will express is that Adults have the power to build up or destroy a child's self esteem and therefore their future. I believe that I will be able to counter argue points that people who have already began arguing on this topic.
